Latest urdu news KARACHI: The first consignment of British vaccine AstraZeneca under Kovex will reach Pakistan on Saturday. Federal Ministry of Health officials say the first shipment of the British vaccine AstraZeneca, which contains 1.238 million doses, will arrive in Islamabad on a Qatar Airways flight from South Korea.
Officials added that 1.238 million syringes are also being provided with the AstraZeneca vaccine. He added that the second consignment of AstraZeneca vaccine containing 1.238 million doses would also reach Pakistan next month.
It should be noted that under Kovex, Pakistan was to receive more than 2.5 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine in March, but India had stopped the Serum Institute of India, where the vaccine is being manufactured, from supplying the vaccine to Pakistan.

According to officials, 3 million people in Pakistan have been vaccinated so far and most of them have been vaccinated with three different Chinese vaccines, while 50,000 people in Pakistan have also been unofficially vaccinated with the Russian vaccine Sputnik.
